Some Ariels

Morten Pind made an Ariel with a slightly raised upper spreader and thinner solid spars and a unique approach to the leading edge sleeves. The top spreader may be a little bit longer than I would use. His message from Denmark  follows.

Stan,
FINALLY! I got to fly my Ariel today. -It flew, and it flew great! It was very different from the stunt kite I have, but I expected that. What really impressed me was that it flew in such a light breeze and how high in the sky it went!!! -at one point it actually flew over my head (maybe I should adjust the bridle a little) :-) But I must say, I was very impressed with your design. The was one other guy on the field with some HQ kite and my Ariel flew at least as good :-)  I actually managed to do a couple of LE launches and something that might be regarded as sort of an axle (keep in mind that I'm a complete newbie to trick flying). I am already planning another Ariel as I really like the size of it :-) -But man doing those tricks is difficult, -it looks so easy when I studied the instructions at Prism's web site :-)  I'll keep you posted when I have gotten some flight experience, but I've gotta I love my Ariel already!!! Best regards Morten, happy owner of an Ariel ;-)

Morten made another one.

Ashley Ware-Lane made this Ariel Mini, an 80% version with higher aspect and shallower sail

Spence Wikel found the Ariel Mini a bit twitchy for his tastes, but he did a fine job of it in gray Icarex. He later added an upper spreader.
